Sujet: Speakers Messed Up

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

This question is not just about VDJ but you guys are the most helpful when it comes to anything DJing. So I've had these speakers since around January 2013. They're Harbinger HA60s and they've helped me a lot. I also use a Mixtrack (in case the problem is sound quality). Anyways, just today they've started crackling when I play music. I know they're not top of the line speakers but they never cracked when I played music. Is it the volume? What is it? Thanks!

Be sure you have isolated the problem. The speakers are only going to project as good of sound as you put into them. First thing is to make sure it is the speakers that are cracking and not the signal. Plug in your headphones and listen to the track and see if you hear the crackling. If so then the problem is not your speakers. If it's only the speakers then you should return them right away and get replacements.

Okay, GC has a 30 day return policy however. I've had them since the beginning of the year. Also, I have no replacement plan... If the problem is the speakers, what should I do?

the company where you buy it, they will know where to send them for repair, or look on the internet if there is a repair center around

As James said, check your headphones to make sure the crackling is not coming from VDJ.

Check in Config/Performances, normally your soundcard setting should be set to Auto.
Too low a latency can cause crackling in the sound output.

Agree with the above. If you are not 100% sure you can also try feeding your amp/speakers from another source, IPod or similar.

It would be unusual for both speakers to fail the same way at the same time so it makes sense to really check everything out before condemning your speakers.

Good luck

Alright everything on this thread helped you guys. I'm going to test it out today. Thanks!

Hello, I have a DDJ-Ergo-v and I use it with Virtual DJ LE on my Macbook Air, everything works ok
But when I want to sync a song or change the tempo my speakers crackle verry much
And like you said I tried to check my headphones and the same problem when I listened to the music
With my headphones can you please help me. Because the same problem is on my speakers AND on my headphones
I think there's a problem with my Virtual DJ LE I think,

Thanky you verry much.

Thank you verry much man !!
I will look at this, but in case the problem is still not solved after,
What should I do then?

I can't change the settings that may cause the latensy because I have a LE off VDJ,
I can't use the folder advanced settings. What should I do now?
Please help me!

I suspect that you are looking in the wrong place. Go to Config on your VDJ Skin then select the Performances tab. The first thing you will see at the top left of the tab is the Sound Card Latencey.

Try using different Latencey settings until the problem stops. You can also check the box for Safe Mode to see if this helps.

Below the Sound Card settings you will see the Scratch settings. Select this to Optimise For Latency.

You will also see a group of settings for Master Tempo. Make sure that this is set for Fast Stretching.

when I open config the only thing I see is the settings for my audio when I click to advanced options
I get the message; upgrade to pro for the use of advanced options...
Can you help me with that!

Is there nowhere else on a Mac where the latency settings can be adjusted?

I know that on a PC, there is a Pioneer control panel with an adjustment. The Mac doesn't need ASIO drivers but I would assume that there is a setting somewhere for adjusting latency (other than in VDJ).

Best ask in the Mac support area where they know their stuff.
