I'm sorry, but at this date, I would not advise getting an XP machine, unless it was a steal. How much is it.

around $500 dollars need it to work with dmc2 controller, checked dalta cards should work

is it possible that new vdj versions may not support xp
I think this computer will run windows will run windows 7 mb only coame out in 2008 and is 64 bit capabile

My best friend uses the DMC 2 with Win 7, and I have 2 but just have not used in a while. I keep one in the van as a backup unit. I think $500 is way too much for an XP machine. TigerDirect just ran a week long sale on laptops, and you could have done a lot better. Besides, is this on ebay or something? How do you know if it will even do what you need. What looks good on paper, may not measure up in real life, then what are your options?

its New Zealand trademe ebay not big over here,
my dmc2 does not work on Win8 ....thought it was xp only
well found delta works on windows 7 maybe that's the way to go

I have a DMC2 working fine on a 64 bit Win7 Machine. Has been for nearly two years with no problems :-)

Only thing with newer Mother Boards is to check that the sockets PCI and so on are compatible with your sound cards. Having said that the Realtek on board sound cards work ok with VDJ, perhaps not the latest in quality but fine for most applications.

That spec doesn't make much sense to me...

Looks like they've just slapped a load of random jargon together to make it sound impressive.

They say it's a i5/i7 motherboard, but 1055 is an AMD CPU.

Intel Pentium are only a two star CPU, below even the i3 CPU.

And 6GHz???? I seriously doubt it!

You're right... doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Is this a lappy or a PC?

Put the ebay link up here so we can review.

Cheers,

Roy

Yeah this is a desktop, very likely with a Intel® Pentium® Processor G2020 (3M Cache, 2.90 GHz), which has two cores, together 5,8 Ghz of 'processing power' .... If indeed to be trusted..

But ehm.. I suggest buying in a store or online shop close by..

Never get an AMD Processor you will suffer badly.....

Link is below yes its a desktop, which I like ..... and the 1055 should be a 1155 referring to the socket.

The Processor currently 2.9Ghz x2 which is where the 6Ghz comes from and can be upgraded easily to a much higher spec i7.

I need a system now ..... gig on Friday ...... I need a second backup machine and cannot afford new from a shop, this guy is a semi retired computer tech with over 600 trades and not a whisper of bad feedback.

Hey, he may be legit, but I do not like ATI video cards and the memory it has is weak, to say the least. I wish you all the best, and let us know how things turn out.
