Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right place to ask?
Ive got my new 3900s working with virtual dj and my mc6000 almost sorted.
first question: the start/stop time controls don't respond at all in midi mode
Second and this could be a tricky one! The mc6000 and the 3900s control the same thing at the same time (jog, play pause etc) (works fine in cd mode)
Any thoughts?

That's normal; the current release doesn't have support for spin up/down times. I use the spin down as a control for the brake effect parameter instead ;)

What are you actually wanting to accomplish - and what have you assigned the decks to? Check using the little button in the mappers window :)

Hey Scott,
Not sure what I'm trying to achieve! Yet.
I have an mc6000 and two 3900s obviously.
Im trying to use both together because sometimes I do video gigs and other times not.
So.. trying to use the one mixer to cover both scenarios.
Was all going good til today.
When I connect it all up I get the left 3900 showing up in the right side of virtual DJ.
I press eject as advised elsewhere and that fixes it (swaps left right right left etc)
NOW!!
I just don't work!
Can anyone advise the best way to setup an MC6000 with two SC3900????

What skin are you using? How many decks does the skin have?
My thought is that the MC6000 is a "four deck controller" (even though it doesn't have four stereo USB audio channels) so with the SC3900s connected too, that's a six deck setup.
In other words, if the mapping for the MC6000 is designed around four deck use, when you add in the SC3900s there's no fifth or sixth deck assigned for them to use.
My guess is you'd have to modify the mapping.
If you've got all the Denon stuff assigned as audio interfaces too, you'd have to also make sure that was all configured to your needs.

Just using two decks a the moment, default.
I can get it all to work fine but the 6000 and the 3900s control everything at the same time!
ie; pitch, jogs, stop start etc do the same thing on the same track at the same time
Does that make sense?

You need to explain exactly what you want to achieve here..... It will require mapping changes assuming you want 2 decks for the MC6000 and one each for the SC3900s

Hey Keith,
I might want more than I can get here!
I need to think this over to word it right.
I need it set up to sometimes use the 3900s other times not (6000 on its own) via the mc6000 all with virtual DJ
Very hard to explain! and giving me a headache!

Think about it for a sec:
You've got a total of six physical decks (controllers) - four via the MC6000 and another two via the SC3900s..........but only TWO virtual decks on screen in your skin. So you're trying to control two decks with six controllers! That's why you're getting duplication.
It's like six people walking two dogs. Each dog (virtual deck) has three people (physical decks) trying to control it.
Even if you only count the MC6000 as two decks, that's still twice the number of controllers (MC6000 + 2x SC3900) than decks in the software.
To have separate control over each virtual deck you need to use a four or preferably six deck skin.

I think you need to lay down exactly what you want to control what, for example:
Left SC3900: Deck 3
Right SC3900: Deck 4
MC6000 Left: Deck 1
MC6000 Right: Deck 2
or
Left SC3900: Deck 1
Right SC3900: Deck 2
MC6000 Left: Deck 1
MC6000 Right: Deck 2
Or are you trying to accomplish this?
MC6000 Only: Decks 1 and 2
MC6000+SC3900: SC3900s Decks 1 & 2, MC6000 controls no decks
Any of that is possible.
Left SC3900: Deck 3
Right SC3900: Deck 4
MC6000 Left: Deck 1
MC6000 Right: Deck 2
or
Left SC3900: Deck 1
Right SC3900: Deck 2
MC6000 Left: Deck 1
MC6000 Right: Deck 2

In this case you can do the following:
MC6000 only: Connect your equipment as usual
MC6000+SC3900: Connect ONLY the SC3900 units on your computer and use the MC6000 as a stand-alone hardware mixer (don't connect it's USB cable on your PC)
In this case you'll have to configure VDJ to use the SC3900 soundcard of course.

Thanks,
Tried that :(
now one deck controls both!
And at faaaasst speed!
Also now of course I can't use videos, load a/b or fx etc!
Must be a way.
I'll keep fiddling

OK got sound sorted!
The only way I can see being able to play the videos is running in conjunction with the mc6000.
Of course the 3900s aren't mp4 players. Already knew that was just hoping there might be some way?
Thanks for your input guys, been a great help so far.

Now video sorted, almost!
Need help with this one, I can't figure it out.
Ive set video crossfader to auto so when i cross fade it follows. Almost.
It goes a bit of the way across but won't go all the way until the track has stopped playing on the other deck.
Thoughts?

That's the standard behavior of auto-croassfader. It will fade to 75%-25% ratio and it will wait there until you finish your mix.
If you don't like this behavior then you can manually start an automatic video transition
Map a button to:
action_deck 1 ? deck left video_transition 1000ms : deck right video_transition 1000ms
This button will triger a crossfade between the decks that will complete in 1000ms (1sec). You can change the duration if you wish.
PS:
Personally I would still use both MC6000 and SC3900 even if both of them control the same decks at the same time.
PS2:
If you want to use both devices but disable some elements of your MC6000 or SC3900 when you're using video you can tweak your mappers:
video ? ORIGINAL ELEMENT CODE : nothing
This will "force" the button/slider e.t.c. to work ONLY if video is activated

You could set a global variable in oninit on the 3900s then check for that in the actions you want to disable on the 6000.
This would then be automatic and allow you to disable or change function.
Im on my mobile so will go into detail late.

Thanks for the help yesterday guys.
BUT
today I open it all up to start playing and I can't get it right!
am i missing something!
Whatever I do on deck A is mirrored on deck B
Scrolling, track select stop start etc.
And its constantly freezing VDJ
The song keeps playing but I can't control anything in either the 3900s or VDJ
The platters keeps turning but thats all.
Have to force close the lappy and restart
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Both are set as 1
Followed the audio setup
Checked the Denon asio control panel
i dunno?

If they are both controlling the same deck, then you haven't set their deck correctly.
Open config, go to mappers and click the little button next to dropdown and have a look at the deck assignments for the 3900s. Probably both on 'default' or the same deck. Set them to specific decks. 'Default' follows the active deck in VDJ.
