Hi
I use VDJ to play my music quiz's which I have renamed the titles of the songs with the quiz order first.
ie
TITLE ARTIST
01 kayleigh Marillion
02 Zombie The Cranberries
My problem is this; VDJ keeps changing the titles and the artist names. I keep losing the numbering and the artist changes to say
"Cranberries, the"
How do I stop this from happening.

You will need to right-click on the file and choose File Infos to change its name within VirtualDJ's database. If you have renamed the file externally but not also updated the tags, then VirtualDJ will use the files tags when it's added to the database ("Cranberries, the" is probably coming from the file's tags.)
If these changes are being lost when you exit the software, then you have a permissions issue that's preventing it from saving the database. Please see our FAQ pages: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VirtualDJ%20Folder%20Permissions.html

Thanks for the reply but thats not what i meant.
I know how to change the file info through VDJ and how to save the tags but a few days later the title field has automatically changed to the filename, ie ID3 tag.
i want to prevent the software from automatically doing this
They are not changing when I exit the software but sometime later and not all of them, maybe two every 20 in a folder.
I guess that i can save as a playlist but I use two different laptops and its easier to just copy over the file.
So to recap, I want to prevent VDJ from changing the title name and artist name to the filename. When Ive edited the title and artist, i want it to stay the way i have put it.
