Do i need to make changes to setup config to use the laptop with vdj while the controller is not plugged in?
As i just bought new laptop and i want to some virtual folders and such and just dont need the controller whilst doing it?

You will need to change your sound settings appropriately so that it uses the sound card built into your laptop, e.g:
Inputs: None
Outputs: Single Output
Sound card: Simple -> Choose your laptop's built-in sound card in the list
Make a note of the original settings first before changing so you can go back to them easily when you next use your controller.
NOTE: If you are only making virtual folders and don't actually need to play any files (E.g: To preview them to decide which folder to put them in), you can simply leave your sound config as it is and just click OK on the sound error message that you get at start-up.
