Sujet: Pulsating Music

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

anybody ever have an issue that the music seems to pulsate very slightly, not staying constant volume, and this problem has been noticed by my clients as well, but some songs seem worse than others. Using two different HP's , even the turntables with the white lines don't look smooth turning around, any suggestions as far as settings go? Both computers are not cheap ones with plenty of Ram and GHZ. And I use END IT ALL to kill all programs not needed running in the background...Thanks

Limiter setting?? try different values or try turning it off (if its on)

Turntables with white lines?

If you're not using the default skin, you need to ensure that the skin size is exactly the same as your screen resolution, otherwise it'll put a strain on your system.

I'd say it's the limiter, so you need to turn the volume down a bit and also find a skin to use that has a limiter warning on it.

It's ridiculous that they put a limiter in the software and then didn't update the default skins so that we can see when the limiter is kicking in!

Just Disable the limiter. It's completely pointless anyway in software.

on the contrary - limiter is extremely useful in any software.
And clearly it sounds like you are playing music with far too much gain/volume if you experience this kind of clipping.

(if there was no limiter on, it would be distorted music - so limiter is a very good safe guard - that being said, turn down your volume in VDJ instead - and raise volume on your amps)

Yes - despite the proliferation of DJs who can be seen in pictures and videos running mixers "in the red", and despite manufacturers publishing promotional material showing all the LEDs on the meters fully lit - this is NOT the correct way of running your audio system!

Keep the signal level as near as possible to 0dB. If it goes over now & then that's OK because there is still some headroom left to accommodate +3dB now and again. The more you go over 0dB, the less headroom you have left. Go too far and you get distortion or (when there is a compressor / limiter inline) a squashed signal.
