Hello
It's no secret that I also own and play with Serato DJ
Serato is currently making and releasing a lot of new versions.
But in my experience the simply aren't stable
And looking at their forums it's the same story: "Please, focus on making the software stable / no more crashed, please / please fix the bugs first"
I have not had a single VDJ crash or other incident since installing v. 7.0.4 a long time ago, or with any of the versions since then
It's simply solid as a rock.
And I haven't exactly treated the software nicely
In my opinion stability has to be the main requirement of any professional DJ software. It's way less important if there is a new fancy effect in it somewhere
So thank you VDJ for making the most stable DJ software I can think of
I hope this will continue when v8 comes out :)
Best regards
Klaus Mogensen

Same here....I was an SSL user for a long time, and I still use it from time to time (probably wont anymore since SSL has come to end-of-life and everything is moving towards SDJ).
One of the reasons why V8 is taking so long to arrive is that it's a complete code re-write. So there is tons and tons of testing, QA, and making sure it's 100% stable and perfect out of the box.

Have to agree completely. Never crashed on me ever in 5 years of various laptops and controllers and does my 5 hour gigs absolutely flawlessly. I don't use video, karaoke or non-standard effects which probably helps.
Recently tried Traktor because of the improved 48khz support for Asio however it crapped out on me several times during testing so that got binned ASAP.
Although I have been critical about several issues of late (and resigned from being a forum moderator) I have to admit that stability is key and VDJ unquestionably wears the Crown there!

No, thank you guys for your honesty. Listening to the drumbeats and smoke signals, all you hear is how great the other software is. Most of us know it's not true, but we also know that there are more sheep than shepherds. Look, this is not rocket science. This is like when I got new sneakers, when I was a kid. We thought we could run faster. When you grow up, you realize you have a choice. You make a purchase based on what works best for you, not what works best for someone else. There is a reason there are so many car companies, choices. Software is no different.

Been using VDJ since 4.3, and while I had some issue over the years, the software has been very reliable since VDJ 6 for me. Any issues I've had during gigs, have been outside of the software. It's defiantly more reliable than scratched cds.

Stable for me as well, even in the TIMECODE area! I use all 3 major softwares, plus a few more, but VDJ is my goto choice at gigs via mobile or clubs!
