How do i patch 2 hardware microphones to the decks?
I want to patch 2 microphones to the decks so i can try out some effects. I want to use deck 3 and 4.
this used to be possible in version 6 (though i never put it to use) because we had "Soundcards" in the lefthand browser list, but how do we do it in VDJ 7
Is it done by modifying the skin file if so how?
(edit: please remove the 2nd posting of this)

Where/how are the mics connected to the computer?
There's a microphone input option in the sound config, and you can also set up various inputs via the advanced sound config. Then it's just a case of selecting the input on the deck so it passes through.

This is a classic example of the need for more information of your setup. Do you use a controller and which one, laptop or desktop computer, which skin, Mac or Windows? etc.
Thanks

sorry been working all weekend..
this is just at the theory stage at the moment as currently i have an Ultramizer wired to the mic insert on my mixer. but at some gigs bringing my ultramizer isnt an option but people still expect to sound just as good on other bars systems, just because im pushing the buttons.
so,
What i want to do is wire my 2 radio mics back into virtualdj. The hardware isnt really an issue as ive already connected via 2 usb soundcards via line in and even also an old PS2 SingStar adapter(Which installs on the PC as a stereo mic, seperate left and right)
The goal is to route the 2 signals to a deck, three and four, so i can apply effects. I have already found on the 4 deck default skin an AUX button, but i haven't got as far as running both mics at the same time.
Do i need any extra syntax in the skin file to connect a second AUX ??
In advanced audio config i can route the mics to the decks..

okay, my curiosity is satisfied..
got this all back out again and did this..

The device in this test is the PS2 singstar. BUT between mic and my headphones there is nearly 1 second of lag.
Has anyone here tryed all this but with an ASIO soundcard?
I only have the Audio 2 DJ ASIO, but it only has 2 outputs and no inputs..
I have more soundcards around with line-in which i haven't tried yet (with maybe ASIO for all)
What are your experiences??
