Does anyone use a Tascam TT-M1?

The idea looks brilliant for my DIY controller, I'm just wondering if it has any problems like noticable lag or lack of accuracy at extremes of speed, I'm also wanting to know what resolution encoder wheel it uses as it doesn't look too difficult knock one up from parts.
