I would agree with that to some extent. Power is not everything tho. Efficiency is! With the introduction of lightweight hi power amplifiers you can have a large amount of amplifier power fairly cheaply. Loudspeaker efficiency however has always been and remains expensive. A 1000watt Amp driving an inefficient speaker system ( not suggesting that the QSC,s are inefficient BTW. This is a general comment) can easily be out done by an amp with half that power and an efficient system. Placement effects efficiency a great deal.

I think it is easy to become impressed with power figures. But how well the overall system turns that power into sound is what makes the difference between a mediocre rig and one that can take the paint off the walls ;-)
