Just an opinion... Since VDJ8 is a complete "from the ground up" redesign, I think a Brand name change would make a lot of sense.

Great idea. How about RealDJ or something else totally pointless.
People who suggest this don't know how branding works and how long it takes to achieve something as strong as VirtualDJ has become since 2004
Companies who rebrand generally do it to cover up some screw up from the past and hope people don't know it's them......

Would you stop using the software they decide to call it "RealDJ"? or "something else totally pointless DJ"

I dont how branding works, but VDJ peeps surely have a clue. If I recall the name was not Virtual DJ since I started using the software back in 99 (and yes it was a pirated version).

Very glad you used the word "generally", unless you meant "all".

Wow piyo - show some respect!!
You have your opinion the same as Keith can have his!!
Calm yourself down and respect that he doesn't agree with you.
For the record I also disagree with rebranding, I personally think it would be the worst thing to do at the launch of a great new product. (this is my opinion).

My sincere apologies guys. It definitely WAS NOT my intention to come off as disrespecfull. An open and respecfull debate, that's all I am aiming for. Again Keith sorry if my tone came out as rude.

Well I kinda agree with you, since at this stage it would be a little late for rebranding. Personally since, as per dev team they are reprogramming the whole thing, bringing new and advance features, closing the gap with the unsatisfied DVS heads and maybe more, I believe a new approach is needed for marketing specially with all the bad rep VDJ has endure. I see it as a new beginning. Not sure why Corp level decided to go from Atomixmp3 to VirtualDJ back then, but I don’t think it was a bad move and I doubt they were trying to cover anything fichy.

Here's the bottom line. Anyone, and everyone, is entitled to their opinion but, only one person owns the company. Steph will do as he believes is best. So, the debate is a time killer and nothing more.

You know how I roll. Need to keep them on their toes. You did make me laugh.

Of course Rick printed this out, Brian! He doesn't like all this new fangled technology. If Rick had his way, he'd still be reading things engraved on rock tablets....

Have you seen the postage on them things nowadays...

You need to do the completely eco irresponsible thing and upgrade to a non biodegradable tablet. Paper... Seesh... that is like outdated like unsliced bread.
:D
I propose we rename it #DJSOFTWARE or #WHOCARESWHATSOFTWAREIUSE
It doesn't really matter what its named I feel like The most important part will be that it has a "HashTag" or what us normal people call a number sign or pound sign in front of it.. bahahahahaha
- I am joking by the way...
