Sujet: Migrating from VDJ7 to VDJ8

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hi,
I have had one of my worries removed already today - moving virtual folders from one computer to another - that is sorted!, but I have another one!
When I move all my music to my new laptop with VDJ8, from a VDJ7 laptop what also do I have to do to migrate all the cue points, beat grid info, file info etc. that I have in VDJ7?

OLD LAPTOP MUSIC SOURCE C:/USERS/DJ/MY MUSIC/80s
NEW LAPTOP MUSIC SOURCE D:/USERS/DJ/MY MUSIC/80s

Thanks,

I think the best way to go would be to use a external harddrive.

Well it's an internal external hard drive!
It is a second drive built in to the laptop.
Drive C: is an SSD for Faaast Windows, and drive D: is also built in, but will be a standard HD for the Music.

Thanks,

Should work fine, VDJ auto fixes/ignores the drive letter... give a try ;)

Ooh! that's clever :-)
Well as soon as the laptop lands in the UK from across the pond - I will try it.

Thank you,

As long as the path (folder structure) is exactly same, the only difference being the drive letter, you should be fine ;)

You'll need to copy your database file at least. Things like history are kept in the main VDJ folder too, so copy those if you need 'em.
