I would like to set browser tags with VDJ script, so I can map that actions to any key/controller button I want.
Something like: "set_tag_rating 4" to set rating 4 (stars) to the current track.
And maybe something like: "set_tag_genre 'House'" or "set_tag_user1 'Intro'" to set a tag value with a given string.
That would help immense when prelistening to tracks to sort and rate them.

Maybe to ease the implementation create an action that takes 2 parameters.
set_tag 'rating' 4

You can set colours by script instantly you can also sort files by colour
So intended 1* songs mark red, 2* yellow whatever so on.
browsed_file_color "red"
when your done marking recurse the database
then right click the field headers and include colour
sort by colour
now you have all the 1 stars next to each other hi-lite them all and batch edit to 1 star and remove the colouring.

Hi,
My wish is to have the browser column header behave just as vdj 7, for example: Selecting and Sorting with a config windows of check boxes.

Prelisten just exactly same as in VDJ 7 beneath the browser and horizontal side list sharing the browser's columns.

The column spacing for the horizontal sidelist to match the spacing on the selected item in the directory tree.
It's not possible to adjust the spacing in the horizontal playlist AFAIK and it looks ugly.

When I move the spacing of the folder columns, the sidelist columns move with it. Not sure how you got them that way.

Maybe your sidelist had some other spacing values (from a previous build).
Open settings.xml and delete the line <browserColumns>, then open VirtualDJ again.
EDIt.. hmm that may not work.. You will probably have to manually edit the values of the |side part
@Adion, this could be a bug here ? Shouldnt Sidelist get the same values if that line was deleted ? Does it read those values from another one ?

I think the issue here is that if you change between a filter folder, history or playlist which can all have different column spacing (and contents), the horizontal sidelist at the bottom doesn't adjust to suit. It's also a bit off if the list above has a scollbar but the horizontal sidelist doesn't.

Hi Babis,
I have managed to get everything to match now.
Specific issue seems to be that you can set completely separate columns for folders, playlist and history.
If you decide to change either the playlist or history column selection or sizing it throws out the horizontal playlist.
Maybe it should also have settings to match playlist or history if selected.

2) What is coming up next,
3) Information about the songs.

The problem is that I don't think the sidelist should follow the columns selected for history or sampler for example, so there will always be cases where the columns are not identical and thus not aligned.

It's just missing from the skin. There are lots of skins with this built in. Why it was missed and sill isn't present in the default skin no one knows......
