Sujet: CANNOT Move Files on VDJ8

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I organize my video downloads regularly in a weekly basis (Move to folders by Genre).
First time to use VDJ8 to do this task and it didn't let me. The right-click options were there though... Copy to, Move to, etc..

Am I missing something?

dont have vdj open at this moment but I think I heard that Genre is not incorporated anymore.I never used it since I have allways downloaded music into folders I name by genre and placed under documents?
 
Thanks for the chime but that has nothing to do with the issue I am getting.
The "Genre" I mentioned on my post, are the names of the physical folders that I have on my HDD.

I can do the moving of files in VDJ7.
But was just curious why I can't on 8?
 
What OS are you using?

What happens when you try to "Move to"?
 
Mac OSX 10.9.3

Would this be a factor?
 
I have just tested on my Mac 10.9.3 and they move without issue.

Are you moving individual files or bulk moving?

Sort by Genre in VDJ
Move to Folders that are named by Genre

(As mentioned earlier, I have done this on VDJ7 and earlier versions without any issues)
 
Just bumping up...

I need an answer. Just want to make sure I can do the task once it's time for VDJ7 to get uninstalled.
 
I have just tested this using 15 files and all files moved with any issue.

There is no dialog to show them being moved but i was definitely able to move files back and forth.
 
I will test again and report back.
 
I did testing again about this moving files issues on VDJ8 and it really DOESN'T work for me : (

Could this be a bug?
I don't see any option in Config that restricts to do this task.

Anybody from Atomix?
 
Just to understand, the right-click option ..Move to.. doesnt work for you ?

Btw, you can also move files to a folder, by holding down the CTRL key on the keyboard and drag with the mouse. Also while holding SHIFT down, you can Copy files instead of moving.
Works on Windows at least.

EDIt. works on Mac too. COMMAND key for Move , SHIFT for Copy
 
Ok, I finally find the issue.
On files within the laptop folder A move to another laptop folder B, IT DOES WORK.
On files within the HDD folder X move to another HDD folder Y, IT DOES WORK too.

If moving the files from laptop folder A to HDD folder X, IT DOESN'T.

I now know the workaround.
But I still wish that this will be fixed.
 
I can't use my 14MXR whit this new software VDJ8.when I try to use my hot cue
 
what happens when you use hot cue...
do you use a V7 mapping or the native v8 ?
what does the mapping/ action say when you select key learn and hit a hot cue button ?
