Sujet: Migration to v8 - cue & auto-load issues

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hi all,

I think I've posted more to forums in the last week than I have since going digital in 2010... Yish! Anyway, migrated to v8 on Sunday, learned more than I ever wanted to know about how to code vdjScript and remapped my controllers this week, and have run tests like there is no tomorrow, so it's almost time to go live.

Anyway, I have sorted through most of my issues (I think, fingers crossed) but have a few final configuration questions that I'm either totally overlooking in the documentation, or I've just gone blind from spending so much time staring at a computer screen this week...

1) The 'cue' button does not seem to be behaving as before. Hitting cue from a paused track used to drop a numbered cue point there but no longer does. From some searches, this appears to be a designed feature of v8 but is it configurable? Is there a way to switch back to the previous cue button behaviour?

2) If a deck is empty, and you press the play button, it auto loads a track and starts playing it - can I turn that feature off somewhere? I never want anything to load unless I've specifically loaded it onto a deck. Ever.

3) Load security for playing decks - previously there were three options, always load the track, ask, never load the track. It seems as if the never option is gone - is this correct? i prefer the never option as if I'm in a hurry I don't want to have to be clicking through dialogue boxes just because I dropped a track on a deck I didn't mean to.

I should also add, great job by the team on everything. I'm very impressed so far by what I'm seeing and looking forward to really expanding my creative options with this new version! Thanks for all the work, and thanks for the help getting my system all set up this week.

1). Yes this is the behavior that the CUE button has in version 8. It doesnt change the hotcues. It only stores a temporary Cue point. And i believe it is the right approach and really happy with that, as with version 7 i had lots of times accidentally changed my Hotcues.
If you still need that back, i believe it could be a way via vdj script actions, possibly only for HotCue 1 , but i ll have to try it before posting here.

EDIt.. Just a quick one, which only uses hotcue 1 though..
CUE--> pause ? cue 1 ? cue_stop : set_cue 1 : cue_stop

2) The play button has the same functionality as version 7. If a deck is empty , it loads the focused track. If you wish to disable this feature, map the PLAY button as ..
loaded ? play_pause : nothing

3) The 3rd mode of Load Security is something that we have asked for already. Hopefully soon.
