Not sure which part of forum this would come under, so I put it in here.

I have a suggestion related to hardware acceleration.

I currently have to dissable hardware acceleration on HD4000 (even with the reg edit settings applied) to get videos to run smoothly, VOBs to play without a delay between audio and video.

The annoying thing though is I lose all the video transitions. Is it possible for a modification to not dissable (or choose) these when hardware acceleration is dissabled? It's not like it cant do them without as you are left with one transition which works fine.

V8?
Try this script, it toggles HWAccel on or off

setting "skinDisableHWAccel"

I'm using VD7 for live work.

I can enable/dissable hardware acceleration, that's not the issue.

The issue is that with hardware acceleration disabled this resolves lots of video issues with my graphics card, but also I lose all but one video transition.

What I am suggesting is the ability to turn off hardware acceleration (which will mean lesser detail in the video), but to keep ALL (not just the one) video transitions.

When you say you have the reg settings applied - what did you apply?

As for your request it is not possible as transitions may well use features that require hardware acceleration, not to mention the fact that v7 is no longer being developed.

I have set :

VideoMemMaxUse to 800 (half the available to the HD 4000 which is 1600 - I have also let it have the full 1600 and makes no difference)

Video YV12 Bug to Enabled.

With hardware acceleration unticked in Virtual DJ Video settings it plays all my video content :

MP4
VOB (Mixmash)
VOB (ripped from various DVDs)
MPG

When I turn hardware acceleration on

MP4 plays, but if I hit cue after starting playback it doesn't always reset the video in sync with the audio and if I skip about the track and hit cue the audio will play, but the video has to play catchup.
VOB (Mixmash) plays with stuttering video and the spinning platers stutter, sound is OK.
MPG same as VOB

If I tell it to play VOB and MPG with Windows Media Player codec they play without the stutter, but the video is very noticably out of sync with the audio and if I hit cue after playback the audio cues, but the video stays where it had got to and after a few seconds it catches back up. That's with the VOB files from Mixmash and some MPG. The VOB files from various commercial DVDs play the video, but have no sound and some MPG visuals when used as link video will stop and the audio carry on when the length of the visual has been exhausted, however the MP4 visuals stay linked and loop until audio finishes.

My apologies has this info is in another post I made which was about the "issues" rather than the suggestion.

It's not as if the graphics card isnt capable of playing the video it's some aspect of hardware acceleration it doesnt like, but the troubleshoot tab in Windows Display settings is greyed out and the Driver doesnt allow adjustments.
