New controller from NI,

It has it's merits for folk whom have the decks already. Nice looking, what's the price? One hundred billion dollars?

Haha, I don't know how much but let's talk about this.........
Are jog wheel even needed anymore??
They talked about this over on djworxs site but I wanna see how others here feel about it.

I constantly use jog wheels I wouldn't feel right without then to tweak with and the occasional scratch etc. I can see where people not brought up with vinyl could get along without then utilizing sync and well set beatgrids. I don't always have time for all that so the jog wheels serve me well.

I'm sure I could get by without jog wheels, but I use the jog wheels all the time.
If I had the funds I'd own 1200's and use a device like this. Maybe not this particular controller, but it looks capable.

I'd say for the majority buying hi end stuff no, you've either got the separate gear (which is better) or you don't use it (don't scratch) that is if you only play solid metronomed bpms,
it all kind of falls to bits if you need to ride the pitch and keep nudging.
I'd say for most house, techno, trance dj's they're ornaments, who'd rather have the button space instead, having said that, it could always be re-purposed to be something useful.

this is the true button pusher and Its totally mapped now to virtual dj. one side is now linked to sampler one side to the effects. It was mapped fully in version 7 . Now version 8 has less effects but now unlimited samples and sample pages.

I only use jogs to pitch bend. Could easily get by with buttons though. Could get by without a cross-over too as I've never used one to mix.
Pre-ordered the DDJ-SX2 and it has jogs .... doubt this NI controller will be supported by VDJ, especially the screens!

A better view here. I use the jog, but use the pitch bend buttons more. I did not see any bend buttons, but it has a touch strip for bending. I guess I could get used to that. It does offer a lot of features. The mic situation leaves a lot to be desired, and position of the booth out does not fit well with me. Would have to touch it before I could make a decision.
