Hello, I'm new to DJing and I wanted to ask whether there was anyway that the following thing could happen on Virtual Dj 8 or any other mixing software for that matter.
I want the cue to play as soon as the cross-fader hits the other deck. For example, if a track is playing on the left deck and I shift the cross fader to the right, as soon as it touches the right deck, the cue starts playing automatically. I'm sorry, I don't know how to further elucidate this matter.

you want fader start, as soon as you move the XF 1mm left/right, the left/right deck will start playing
(fader start is the name for this action in the dj lexicon)
Search advanced options
Fader star
set to yes

Where exactly do I enable it from?
Oh, and is there a hotkey to enable it and disable it?

You enable it with in advanced options in config
You could script a hotkey with
fader_start
to enable/toggle it per deck
or
deck 1 fader_start & deck 2 fader_start
for decks 1 & 2

Wow, this is really helpful! I'm sorry, I need another view on this. I fail to script, can anyone guide me through that? Where do I open the script of Virtual DJ 8 from and all? Thank you.

Thank you very much! This was quite helpful. I'm sorry that you have to guide me through everything, I just have one last question. What's the hotkey to stop fader_start?
Posté Fri 12 Sep 14 @ 7:01 am
It's the same button. Just press it again.
1st press activates fader start
2nd press deactivates fader start
That easy ;)

It doesn't work. I've assigned Z as the hotkey to enable/disable the fader_start, but it wouldn't disable it. Another question, the cue thing only happens on one deck.
For instance, I've assigned the first cue point to the drop of a specific track on the right deck and my crossfader is set to the left deck, when I drag the crossfader to the right side, the song would either be paused or would start all over (At times, I'm lucky and I get the drop). If I do get the drop, when I'm moving the crossfader to the left again for the other drop, it would be paused and thus, my music would stop :\

Show me the script you have used on the Z key
As for the stopping part do you have faderStop set to yes in options? Turn it off.
