In V7 you could use a third party software to change folder colors or change the default folder color to an icon by using windows own customization.
In V8 the changes doesn't show.
Also is there a way to lock all folders so you can't move, modify or delete them by accident in the left window, Like a security feature? Thanks.

V8 you can skin the folder icons themselves, the security feature you want is called making your music/video folders/files read only (OS level option) but then you can't retag.

that stuff is all controlled by the skin only now i believe.
unless you set use shell icons to yes, might have to turn on advanced settings to see this. even though i don't know it it works on the folder icons or not you will have to test it since i don't use that feature like you are.

wickedmix your suggestion worked like a charm..thanks man..now only if i could figure a way to lock the folders so they don't get shuffled..

Have a look in your file/folders location, you'll see an (several) .order file/s, open it with a text editor, things may become clearer, get the files ordered as you like (inside V8) and then write protect the order files (os level) I don't know what happens when adding new files/folders to the DB.
