Sujet: Wedding DJ's..........

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Well I've been projection mapping for a couple of years now and over the last few weeks I've been approached by a few wedding jocks and asked about how to do it.

Being the opportunist that I am I asked what was the sudden interest and they said they saw a video put out by Disney where they were projecting onto a wedding cake.

So I looked up the video and said "hell I can do that!"

So I did it,

Now mine isn't a big production like the Disney video (yet) but I guess it's worth a little more money to provide this service.

I don't do weddings but thought I'd share it in hopes it sparks some ideas for you wedding DJ's.......

Enjoy.

That's awesome. Anyway you could point me in the direction I need to look, to do it myself? I DJ weddings, now and I'm getting married next September. Would really like to try this.

For the mapping you can use Resolume (PC or Mac), MadMapper (Mac) or VPT (free PC or Mac).

With Resolume Scott has created a plugin that'll take VDJ into Resolume then you can projection map what's coming out of VDJ.

You will need a machine with a dedicated graphics card as these programs can eat up CPU quick depending on how much you have going on.

I haven't found any videos explaining how this (projecting onto a cake is done) so I'll help out anyway I can.

Hope that helps and feel free to give me a shout if you need help.

Awesome. I've never heard of any of that stuff. Looks like I'll be spending the next few months messing with it. Thanks

Sounds good bro!! Check YouTube and have fun with it!! You'll love it!!

Hhmmppfff, now I want to try that too ;)

Checked out his site and didn't see anything relating to projection mapping, unless I missed something??

Here's our booth at the bridal fair and some better pics of the cake,

Over the past few nights I've been practicing with a faux cake I got from Hobby Lobby and I've pretty much got the masking of the edges down perfectly now.

hmmmm, the blog portion of his site is experiencing issues. I'm certain he has written about testing and implementation.
But there are videos of tests and live shows using mapping. If someone were to contact them on their facebook page I'm sure Jason would be more than happy to share any information and ideas.
