I'm using Virtual DJ 7 using a two sound cards (one external) with the headphones configuration. I would like to be able to hear more than one song through the headphones e.g. the song which is playing on the Master as well as the song which is being cued. Using an older version (5 I think) there were controls for this at the top bar of the app but that's gone now. Please help.

Have you only just started using 7? [look of shock on face]
For some strange reason, the headphone mix knob is only available on the 4 deck skin in VDJ 7. :-(
Why not download VDJ 8? The mix knob is available on the master section of the default skin.

The VirtualDJ 7 4 deck skin has PFL buttons (instead of SELECT) in the mixer, which should help you to pre-listen more than 1 track/deck at a time.
If you still need to use a different skin which has SELECT buttons instead of PFL , you can also assign keyboard shortcuts as ..
deck 1 pfl
deck 2 pfl
etc
