I use two MacBook Pro's at my gigs and I'm looking for a way to activate "play/pause" on one of them via the trackpad.
Explanation: One MacBook on my right is the "A" main, with my controller attached. The other is "B" on my left, already set up, with a generic Automix playlist loaded (and on occasion a song I just downloaded for a unique request). If anything happens to my A unit, all I have to d is reach out with my left hand and tap the spacebar, and turn up the gain on my mixer with my right hand.
To be honest, I've only had to fire up "B" for an emergency once in the past three months. The "emergency" was me accidentally hitting my stop button on the controller-- something I couldn't figure out in that split second of dead air (DJ panic). Anyways, instead of having to concentrate hard on where that spacebar is within reach-- it would be nice if I could just tap the touchpad. The MacBook Pro touchpad is hard to miss. So, can I go into my preferences/settings and find some command sequence already waiting for me (which I've been searching for a long time in the manual).

I doubt that it is mappable.
But you could just place the mouse on the play button, and hit the trackpad.

PachN-- sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees! Brilliant solution. I had thought of placing my mouse cursor on the play button and then hitting the mouse to go play, but decided it would be even harder for me to find the mouse and hit it-- without taking the chance of it "traveling." Never-ever did I put two and two together and realize if the mouse is hovered over the play button, the trackpad is still active. I'm going to go try it right away. Thanks!

locodog -- I don't do custom skins. Many of them look great, but my overly paranoid nature makes me stay with the basic VDJ8 options. Everything in VDJ8 has worked perfectly for me since day one. You guys who know how to create and map skins are in a league way over my head.
PachN - It worked! -- I did notice that if I hit the trackpad with one finger on my left hand in a few instances the cursor traveled-- but a two-finger tap was golden. Worked every time. Thanks again!
