Just started using 8 downloaded started up worked great I shut down the VMS4.1 mixer and laptop when I restarted I could not get any sound from my laptop all the meters show sound is being produced. Any help would be very welcomed!

Have you tried rebooting? What soundcard do you have selected in audio setup? Have you looked here for a solution?

Please make also sure that the front switches of the VMS are all set to USB and the knob for the soundcard setting is set to 8out
