So I got Vdj, I plugged in my launchpad, all the buttons light up and seem to do stuff, but what I have no idea, and no matter how much I dig and google I can't find any sort of guide to what all these unlabeled buttons do. Is there any?

Check the mapping in Config>mappers
It looks like it does cue points, loops, slicer and sampler functions.

Where is the mappers section? I've literally gone through every page of what I assume is the config page and can't find anything close to mappers, just a controller tab. Googling mappers hasn't helped either. Everytime I hook up my launchpad and try and figure this out for the last few months I've become sick with rage and just given up.

I'm not in front of mine so bear with me. One option is when all of the buttons are lit. This will split the controller in half, down the middle. Left half for deck one, right for deck two. This gives you 8 cue points at the top, loops, beat grid, samples, and the bottom row is play functions. You have to play around to see how it works. The far right buttons allow you to switch to the sampler mode. Just th first two work, press them to see how they toggle back and forth. Open the sample widow to the right of the browser. There are 8 buttons at the top of your launchpad. You are only concerned with the first 4. First one is volume up, next volume down, next moves left to the next sample group, and number four moves right to the next sample group. Hope that helps you.
