Not sure if any of these settings help, but might.

As said, both useDXVA and videoMaxMemory are settings you could try changing and see if it makes a difference.
If it occurred after only 3 songs it should be quick to find out.
Page file I'd still recommend leaving at the windows default.

Adion, mine works fine. I am just trying to help because i have same pc

thanks. Im trying to recreate now that I have FPS up to see what spikes, but no joy so far.

Another that may be useful to check is the video transition you are using. (And perhaps any video effects)
Posté Mon 13 Mar 17 @ 7:52 pm
no effects on (other than FPS) and using fade for the transition. Would you agree that 70% for virtualmemoryuse is high, or is that what it should be?
Posté Mon 13 Mar 17 @ 8:35 pm
seems high to me, something isnt right. Just took screenshot of mine while playing in automix and outputting 1080p video to two monitors, wifi switched on, google chrome open in background. If i had 16gb Ram it would be at 24% i guess.

Ok, just found something out, which might help. My screen just froze up and I was able to replicate it. Sound kept playing and I could keep using my controller. Skin froze up completely and after a couple of minutes the video froze. Tried it a few times now and does it every time.
Playing in automix, video outputting, open task manager - VDJ freezes up?
I will open a new thread because not sure if its related.

I'm fine in task manager, its when I use the FPS plug in is where I see my videomemoryuse at 70%. TBH, I don't know what that means, its just seems high. Especially with a brand new laptop with these specs...
Posté Mon 13 Mar 17 @ 9:03 pm
Yeah, I just figured my problem out, but probably not related. With your specs you should not have any issues. Lots of people on here use the asus rog for that very reason and it is why i bought mine. Somebody else with one might be able to help further. I am out of ideas i think for now. I dont use the FPS plugin though, seems like that might be the issue.

FPS was suggested in that other forum you suggested. It just gives stats, nothing to use at a live performance. I appreciate all your help. Will continue to test for the next 2 weeks, if I still get the error this thing is going back...

a few months ago there was a few threads about VDJ and Nvidia not playing nice together, i seem to recall. If you find those threads you might get some more answers.

What was the result of setting videoMaxMemory to 100?
What was the result of setting useDXVA to no?

DXVA set to no dropped the VideoMemoryUse down to 50 and MaxVideoMemory to 100 dropped it to 22%. Should I be concerned there will be a drop in performance with the video memory setting at 100? I also thought these NVidia cards support the DXVA setting, is that not the case?
thanks
thanks

These things seem to be system specific, there's no rhyme nor reason to it. If you find settings that work then there's not really a problem.

Except for the VideoMemoryUse in the FPS plugin, did it also fix the out of memory warning after a couple of songs?
Since you tried both at the same time, you could try to put useDXVA back to yes but keep videoMaxMemory at 100 and see if it fixes the problem.
Lowering videoMaxMemory will not reduce performance unless you need to do extensive video scratching.
Setting useDXVA to no will increase cpu usage, so it depends on the videos you play and the cpu you have if that will be a problem or not.
In general the default settings work for most people (that's why they're the default after all), but there may be something specific in your system that makes it not work as expected.
For both issues it's good to check if you have the latest nVidia drivers installed as that often fixes these kind of issues.

The out of memory warning only happened on 2 occasions, I havent been able to replicate. The VirtualMemoryUse was going up to 70% within 3 songs (per the FPS plugin). Unfortunately I downloaded FPS after I received the error both times so I have been able to see anything spike high enough to generate the warning.

Adion - sorry to keep going back but I have been running video all day. With maxvideomemory at 100 I maxed virtualmemoryused at ~50%. I changed it back to automatic and virtualmemoryused went up to 95% when the memory error came back. So I think that is definitely the culprit. One instance when I changed it back to automatic VDJ crashed immediately, are you able to access the crash report to confirm the cause of the crash?
thanks
thanks

When you put it to automatic and restart to check, how much does it say it automatically detected? (In brackets after 'Automatic')

3064. Now that I think about it, when I checked my laptops virtual memory it's was allocating 2944MB. Is VDJ selecting a memory amount that is too high?
Posté Wed 15 Mar 17 @ 11:32 am
Also to the point of virtual memory, I have a gtx1070 graphics card with 8GB of dedicated ram. That should be plenty to load any promo only music video at 720p. Why does VDJ even need to tap into virtual memory?
