Sujet: Update box on start issue

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Anyone having an issue when loading up VDJ - the update box asks if you want to use updated version, you select yes and the box doesn't disappear like before, stays there even though I have the latest download. If I select no then VDJ loads!

deleting changelog.txt in VirtualDJ/ cache / does not solve ?

@RobRoy:
No, this workaround does not solve this problem on Mac...

Why is this not fixed yet?? Deleting the stuff from the cache folder does nothing.......

We cant really reproduce it here and hard to fix of course, so please try the following... (some of them could be irrelevant, but u never know)..
- Check the Gatekeeper and see if it helps to turn it off.
- Check the Properties of the applications folder and the VirtualDJ folder (including the cache folder)
- Delete the .ready file from the cache folder.
- Restart your Mac (before trying out VDJ)

MAC El Capitan Version 10.11.3, VDJ 8.1 build 2853.1116
checkUpdates: YES
EarlyAccessUpdates: YES

Tried this:
- set Gatekeeper off
- del the.ready file
- del changelog.txt
- restart
same result, sorry (Update-Box appears again and again)
If I close the window, VDJ start with the older version.
If I hit NO-Button, VDJ start with the older version.
If I hit YES-Button, the Box comes up again.

Hope these infos help to fix this problem....

deleting settings.xml along with the update.ready. and changelog.txt files, helps ?
you will probably have to re-enable the EarlyAccess setting though.

No, deleted the files helps not. After a while the windows pop up and restarts the same procedure...

Did a clean install with build version 2857.1116 from my account.
VDJ starts and no windows pop up.
Settings:

  • checkUpdates YES
  • EarlyAccessUpdates YES

Wait for the next early update and hope it is fixed. Will give you a note anyway. Thanks for your support.

I had seen this only once. The way that I had gotten around it was:

- Moved out my settings.xml file
- Deleted the VDJ App (Mac) and the VIrtualDJ folder from \Documents
- Re-installed with the latest release version and before opening, moved my settings.xml file back in

I then logged back in to create my license file, and then accepted the new 'Early Access' update, and life was back the normal.
