There is more options & tweaks now in 8+ have some kind of color to remember what you tweak until you close VDj-8+ then reopen it goes back normal color.

Have you tried to click the drop down menu and select "modified settings" ?

IMO its not one fits all ...'basic setting" each according to their own.
