Is there a way in VDJ to turn the sound output to mono? I can't find that option.
I ask because some older "stereo" recordings have the voices on one side and the instruments on the other, which can be undesirable with certain equipment setups...

There are mono options in the sound config.
If there are tracks that cause issues like this you can also save the MP3 or WAV file as mono and have a second mono copy of the track tagged as such. I have a few mainly 60's where the stereo separation can cause problems in some venues where the speakers have not been wired properly.

Thanks for the input, KR!
I did not explain my self well enough: I meant a button (VDJscript code) of turning on (temporarily) mono output.
I'll try what you suggest, but my few attempts I have made until now have only yielded a single-channel sound track (having silence in the other channel).

I don't think there's a way of doing this just with a button.
You can try this plugin though which allows you to play about with the channels (left/right only) or reverse them. That may be a solution.

Many thanks. I'll try that.

that plugin when set to stereo mix, combines left and right signals to 2 mono signals.
