I recently got playing with the video side of VDJ. I downloaded 600'ish video loops in 1080 x 1960. Put them in a folder, set the master deck to slideshow, pointed to the folder, etc. All working great. However, all of the videos are between 8-12 seconds long, though it seems to play only about 4 seconds before transitioning to the next one. Is there any way to change this? I seem to only be able to change the fade duration and speed. For the most part it doesn't matter, but I have set up a xmas folder and new year folder too, and some of these videos will say "happy.......new......year" but they cut off before it gets to the end of the video so you only get "happy" if that makes sense. I know some people might tell me to use a 3rd party plugin, but I don't really want to do that. Any help appreciated.

select >visualisations > slideshow > press gui > select fade control knob > set at 0.0s

Just tried that. That just changes the duration of the fade rather than how long each clip plays for.

rack up your visuals as a 1 deck automix on deck 3 and you do your thing on 1 & 2
maybe ???
maybe ???

If you are already looking at the slideshow parameters, I'm not sure how you missed the 'Speed' knob, which when moved all the way up reads 'Full' to play the entire clip.

I saw the speed knob Adion, but thought that just changed how fast the video played, not the length of it. I assumed speed meant speed :) Thank you though, i will try that when I get home.

'Speed' was used in the context of slideshow before it had video support, but you are right, it would make more sense to call it length or duration instead.

That makes sense, I should have perhaps tried it. Thank you all guys, much appreciate the help.

@Adion, Hi, I was just wondering if you could give us any guidelines (if any) as what would be best a total length to a folders running time. The OP has a total length of around two hours, myself personally, I keep a folders total video time to usually under ten minutes and that's just one compilation video and not individual clips. Thanks.
to the OP, Sorry, I forgot to mention the "speed dial" earlier... my bad.

Tayla - is there a reason why i shouldn't have that length in one folder? does it depend on specs of PC? it all runs perfectly?

Entirely up to you, there's no negative effects for the sampler based on the number or the length of videos in the folder.

Hi, originally when "clipbank" was released that was a lot of discussion as to what was recommended video length should be and for whatever memory I still posses I have always kept total running time for these slots at under ten minutes. Looking at it logically and I can probably guess Adion might probably say the same, if your system is capable of longer vids and you are running those two hour folders with out problems other than the shortening of the vids (which should now be rectified), I don't see why you can't keep on doing what your doing.

Just finished writing and posting the above, while Adion had already posted his, sorry for the overlap, it's what I expected, thanks for the reply Adion.

Tayla - I am not using the sampler though. I can understand not having a two hour loop on a sample, but that's not what I am doing.

For the sampler, the audio part is pre-loaded in memory, so there is a limit to the total run-time for a sample-bank including audio.
When the video does not have an audio track, or the audio track is disabled from the sample editor, this is not the case though.
The only additional limiting factor for the sampler would be the number of samples (since each sample has to be ready to play, at least one video frame is decoded in memory per sample)
For the slideshow, only the current video and the next one are prepared in memory, so it does not matter how many videos are lined up.

Cool. Thank you for the clarification.

While we are on this subject. How on earth do i turn this slideshow off. It wont stop no matter what i do, other than turning audioonlyvisualisation off in the settings. If i turn it off in the master effect window, it still doesnt stop. I want to be able to pause it and then fire off a video sample from the sampler, or at least get the sampler to override it.At the minute, they just overlay each other. If the only way to stop the visualisation is by going into the settings. Is there a script that can be mapped to a keyboard key to toggle between off and slideshow?

effect_select 'audioonlyvisualisation' 'SlideShow' ? on & effect_select 'audioonlyvisualisation' 'None' : effect_select 'audioonlyvisualisation' 'SlideShow'
I think this should work. (The "on &" is not strictly necessary, but should make the button lighted when the slideshow is selected for easier visual feedback)

That works perfectly Adion as a keyboard key. Thank you very much.
