Does anyone know if you can makes a spinning circular graphic appear to speed up as the song progresses?

Depends on how you define "appears as speed up" but yes it's possible.
A quick way of doing it is to multiply the source of your visual
As a draft example: source="param_bigger 75% song_pos ? get_rotation & param_multiply 4 : param_bigger 50% song_pos ? get_rotation & param_multiply 2 : get_rotation"
Of course you'll need to adjust it on your personal needs
