Check out the American DJ DMX bridge. if you have and Iphone or Ipad you make all the programing on your device and control your lights wirelessly via a closed Wi-Fi network. It also allows for live control and preset that can be saved to buttons on your screen.

If you want to continue to work in sound active, these units may have settings to control sensitivity. Alter the sensitivity of each light, so that they react differently from each other. Otherwise, you may want to look into DMX control.

You like Chauvet then? :-)
Yes, a DMX controller like that (of which there are many) will be more than adequate to control what you have.
Getting your head around the programming though is another matter. Some people find it very challenging.

Take your time and do the research. The obey 40 will work fine, and give you the added ability to upgrade to more fixtures. However, also look at software options, which may be easier and have built in scenes for many of the lights on the market. There are some free options available to try out, but the paid for options will offer more features.

I have all chauvet mostly because it was at an auction for damaged packaging and was deeply discounted i picked up the gigbar for 130 with no damage at all to the actual light, and i had looked into a few software programs.
