Hi all,
just wondering if anyone has found a solution to the Iremote and no wifi.
I have Mobile hotspot available on my Laptop but it will only work when connected to Ethernet. For obvious reasons - not all venues provide WIFI therefor the remote is a waste!
Im wondering id there is a way to tether/connect the Remote with wifi direct to the Laptop using he existing signal the LT provides without the need for a router etc!

Depends on the OS and configuration. Some laptops have ad-hoc mode software built in as an extra to the wifi card software, some have it in the OS and some wifi cards don't support ad-hoc mode at all.
You can create an ad-hoc network with no internet signal in some cases.
You will need to look at the spec of your laptop and figure it out. If the card supports ad-hoc mode but there is no software you can use something like Connectify.
Personally I use one of these. Plug it in the wall, both devices connect and it works 100% of the time with no issues at all.

Hi just wondering what i need to enable me to set up mac ipad and xdj r1 to use vdj remote without needing access to my customer's internet. Will the tp link shown do it? What is the model or type?

The model is the AC2600 range extender. It is meant to receive a signal then create another network using it to extend the wifi range.
The basics are that both your PC and ipad connect to the signal it sends out and it creates a bridge between both devices.
There are cheaper ones available but they won't have as good range. The AC2600 is a good quality unit.
I use my one for 5 hour gigs and it never ever loses connection at all.
