VirtualDJ has changed name conventions, the latest version of VirtualDJ is currently named VirtualDJ 2018. And by that, next major version will be VirtualDJ 2019 etc..
And VirtualDJ 2018 is the update to version 8. And VirtualDJ 2018 gets updates that you can get automatically if you set autoupdate to "yes" in settings.
