Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and relatively new to Virtual DJ. I today discovered the subscription service so signed up and started mixing. Does anyone know a reason why my recording feature is no longer working? Is this a copyright issue?? I could record perfectly fine before subscribing. Many thanks.

Yes, the 5racks are DRM so recordings are disabled.

In other words, you don't own the tracks. You're renting them, so therefore making a copy by recording is not permitted.

If you want to freely record then you need to buy the music, not rent it - although strictly speaking, recording any copyrighted work is illegal (you only purchase the right to play the music, not record it).

Hi advice please. I want to record my DJ sets on an external recorder. Just to listen to again or to upload if any good to my mixcloud?

Does anyone do this and if so what external recorder do you use?

I use VDJ I know that you can record internally but it ends up peaking and distorting sometimes. Also you cant record DRM tracks

Yeah, there's a reason for that. It's illegal.

FYI it's illegal to record anyone elses copyrighted music, even if you paid for it. It's also illegal to share it by uploading it somewhere.

To do those kind of things you need to be have permission from the copyright holder, which usually means paying for a license.

On vinyl and CD, the copyright notice was printed onto the label and the cover. Unauthorised copying, hiring, lending, public performance and broadcasting of this recording prohibited. Of course this isn't possible with digital files, but it still applies.
