Hi,
I have the following usecase:
for a gig I have a bunch of songs to organize in a playlist. I want to do this during the week on my smartphone, when I have the time for it (e.g. in the bus, at workplace and so on) and I'm not at home. I want to look for what I have already, and buy and download the tracks which I haven't.
Is there a way to read from the Vdj Database on a smartphone to see what I already have, or even better, to build a playlist with tracks I already have in the DB?
Maybe that could be a request for a feature for future releases

If vdj see's the phone as a logical drive then sure, it's a logical drive.

What smartphone is it?
The VDJ database is just an XML file (you can also export the VDJ database to other formats), so you could probably find an app that reads databases and go from there.
Copy the database onto the phone then use the app to search it.

You can also export your entire song list to PDF with a couple of clicks and your device should have default software that can easily search it

I think what he asks for is an app that is like a "Virtual DJ Browser section on a smartphone".
But no that doesn't exist - sadly.
But I also think this could be an AMAZING feature VDJ could easily offer!
Explaination:
VDJ stores the database of each drive on the drive itself,
so you can read this databases from every computer with VDJ on it.
Smartphones (at least Android) on the other side can be set as MTP-Drives, so it acts like a harddrive.
But this harddrive is capable of software and has a touchscreen built in!
And the best thing is, that there is already a VDJ-app which already HAS A BROWSER!!! (But only for remote via Wifi)
The step to an app which helps sorting files while sitting in the bus (or waiting for the german train to arrive) ISN'T THAT big!
And VDJ managed it to provide tutorials for coding... So I think an tutorial how to get this working is not so challenging.
Even Pioneer tried it to with rekordbox, so THERE IS interest and the need for such a software.
It only depends on those who have to decide whether or not this is a good idea, but trust your users... it is!
