this is probably a crazy idea, but lets see what you think. a retroactive record function. some video cameras have this function where you can hit record, and it actually records the previous few seconds rather than the next few. essentially the camera is recording all the time, but only saves it when you hit that button. so with VDJ, imagine you did a great dj set one night, and you thought to yourself, i wish i had recorded that. imagine if you could actually go into VDJ and select an option to get the last 2 hours or so of your DJ set, that would be cool. :-) you can let me know if its a crazy or unfeasable idea, i wont be offended.

You could simply assign record_start to ONLOAD in your keyboard mapping.
That way virtualdj would start recording every time automatically

Great idea. I think I'll experiment a bit with that

actually the problem with that, is if you leave VDJ open for a long time the file would just keep getting bigger and bigger
it may be better to have it limited to a certain number of hours retrospectively

what does that do? i cant find it in the manual

search options
not really a problem
150 ish MB /hour @320 .mp3
400 ish MB /hour .flac
so at least 10 hours before you hit the x86 filesize limit

got it thanks
so, this would be the same as the feature i suggested, if it didnt save the file, unless you told it to at the end of the mix
currently with this feature turned on, you end up with record files building up every time you open up VDJ to play around which is a bit messy
