I have been using Vdj 7 LE that came with my controller and now am thinking about getting 2020. The only thing I can't find to make the way I'd like is the waveforms. Is there any way to have them running horizontal but not overlapping more like a cdj situation. I hate having the visual help honestly.

Different skins offer different waveform views. Some offer more options than others.
Presumably you're talking about the default VDJ 8 skin. Have you tried all the default skin variations?

I see it shows me I can use the vdj 7 skin which would work, but then would all the features of 2020 be available?

Available yes. On the skin, no.
Of course because the VDJ 7 skin was designed before the VDJ 8 features, they're not part of the skin design, but you can still use them via a controller or your keyboard etc.
