Hello everyone,
I bought a mixer the other day to use with my desktop computer (Windows 10, 16GB, Six core), but I am unable to control the music with it.
I have the latest version of Free Virtual DJ, as it's a USB mixer, I have 1 usb cable plugged into my computer.
I can see the dB LED lights moving with the sound, but I have no audio.
Please help me.
PS: I was told that all I needed was this 1 USB cable... no RCA's needed

I should add... I have small speakers plugged into my computer, that work.
That shouldn't matter right? I should still be able to use the mixer with these...?
I am fiddling around with the audio settings on Virtual DJ, and I can get sound... I just can't get the mixer to control the sound

I know I am using the free version, but I can still use my mixer with it for 10mins at a time... so I should be able to get it working, if only for 10mins

You have speakers plugged into the output of the M101, right? Otherwise you won't hear anything (assuming you're sending VDJ master output to the M101 channel 2).
You can't control VDJ with the M101. It's a mixer, not a controller.

Hi mate,
Thanks for the reply.
I'm an idiot...
I thought I could control VDJ with the mixer.
It's been a long time since I DJ'd and I never used a computer.
Well this was a waste of £89 :) (for the mixer).
Can you suggest a low cost controller for VDJ?
I just want to fool around and see if it's something I'd like to get back into... so want to keep the costs low at first
PS: No, the speakers are not plugged into my mixer. I thought I could use my desktops speakers (via my computer)
Essentially, I just want the cheapest way for my to mix some music using my computer and VDJ.

If you bought it online, you can send it back and exchange it for something else.
Pioneer DDJ-200 perhaps? That's about the most basic without going into toytown.

Hello my friend.
I am looking at DDJ-200 now.
Looks good.
So with this I can control VDJ... using bother channels to mix?
The only speakers I have currently are plugged into my computer via a USB and small jack.
Will I be able to play using this, via my computer?
I'm just trying to order everything I need at once so I can play right away :)

Here you go http://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/hardware/pioneer/ddj200.html
There are two new controllers from Numark also...
You can control VDJ with any of the above, and play the main output through your computer speakers. Plug headphones into the controller to cue.
You will need a license.
