Is it a good idea to use virtual dj one day and then use serato the follow day for example... I mainly use virtual for stems, broadcasting, recording. I prefer serato to better organize some of my mixes and make notes on the library.

if its a good idea or not, thats entirely up to you... ;-)
If you are using both, can turn on getCuesFromTags to always in VDJ settings, so that cues etc are imported into VirtualDJ each time in case you set some in the other software .. (Serato has no such feature the other way around though). VDJ also automatically imports the crates.
For notes/comments, you might have to right-click song(s) and choose reload tag in VDJ to refresh updated comments done externally.
I might be biased, I find the library and management in VDJ a lot better though.. often one of the strong points DJs point out to why use VDJ ;-)
