Looks like you are moving the crossfader on your controller?

That's surely not normal : It looks like this is only visual issue
There is a ghost crossfader. It reflects the hardware crossfader position (maybe ghosts rendering are handled before action)
Crossfader is disabled so that it does not move

if controller crossfader was fully moved left and right, this is a weird bug
but if you used touchpad with crossfader selected it moves the ghost a part of the range according to touchpad resolution

Touchpad is handled as keyboard+mouse, same mapping, with some differences in touchscreen mode
but it's not VDJ, it's driver/OS config related (as you figureout in the your other topic)

This is using crossfader on controller with it disabled in VDJ, if you don't touch it it just seems to bounce/move a bit on its own. My Touchpad is totally disabled

So from lack of engagement from any tech support at VDJ I can only assume the crossfader doing this on two laptops is normal? Never noticed it before.

crossfader disable is inside vdj, your device is still sending midi, but vdj isn't acting on it hence the ghosting.

If you tested on both computers with the same controller, then it is likely that your controller's crossfader is dirty/broken, and then yes, this would be normal behavior. As locodog said the controller will still be sending midi, and the ghost slider is just there to show the physical position of the crossfader.

OK thank you, was just wondering if maybe a bug with VDJ, but it appears not.
