I am looking to buy the Pioneer DDJ-1000 and installing 2021 Virtual DJ. Before I make this purchase, I'd like to know if anyone has a positive or negative review of this combination. I have read the installation manual a bit and it seems very compatible. Any feedback would be great! Thanks in advance.
I will be installing it on a 2017 MacBook Pro and a backup computer 2017 DELL Laptop (PC).

Sorry, it's the Pioneer DDJ-1000SRT, not the 1000.

Do a search. This has been covered several times before and there are threads discussing the difference between both models.
Use Google with the suffix site:virtualdj.com as the search on here is useless.

I had the DDJ1000 (not SRT version) and that one, was really a great joy to use with VDJ.

The SRT is a hardware mixer, in other words, AWESOME. Better than the 1000 software version mixer. I would have bought that if my DDJ-RZ was broke.

My thoughts exactly. I am more of the 'hardware side'. Thanks for the reply.
