I started up VirtualDJ this morning and it offered me an update so I said Yes, then nothing happened.
Restarted the laptop, restarted VirtualDJ, it offered the update again, but didn't do anything
(screenshot of the update)

I'm running v8.5-64 b6613
and am set to check for early access updates :

Any ideas?
Thanks

Check
C:\Users\user\Documents\VirtualDJ\Cache
if there's a .ready file delete it and boot vdj again [will redownload the update]

Same here
offer update, download but do not launch updater
after restart does exactly the same
Note none of .ready or virtualdj.exe.tmp
looks like nothing but changelog.txt was saved
worked perfectly with 32bit version

Thanks for the advice,
Weird ... it keeps downloading the changelog and the .ready file,
Then deleting them and downloading them again.
Got to go do my "proper" job for a few hours, so I'll try this again later or tomorrowr

update64_6636.download becomes update64_6636.ready 8436K
does nothing
wait some time ... it erased update64_6636.ready, skin flashed 2 or 3 times (internal crash)
downloaded again update64_6636.ready
then ask again to update
tried with dl the msi file : unless samples are obsolete, everything installed ok

If an auto-update fails for some reason, you can simply download it manually (link below) and install "on top" of the current installation

In Windows:
Make a backup of Virtual DJ Folder in Documents directory. I recommend making a compressed file (zip) from: Right Click > Send to... > Compressed File .zip or with your favorite archive manager. Then download Virtual DJ from here:
https://www.virtualdj.com/download/build.html
And if it is a "repair" option in the installer, select it. Otherwise, do a clean installation of VirtualDJ and check if it has the skins you have selected and your selected settings. If not, grab the VirtualDJ backup folder and overwrite it with it.
I hope it helps.
And always create a backup.

I guess the real question is "why is this update failing for so many folks?"
Posté Fri 10 Sep 21 @ 10:42 pm
Should be fixed now. There was a problem with the incremental update on the server.
