How do I achieve having additional 4 pages (Shift-page-1...Shift-page-4) available in the drop-down for my controller? I have it there for DDJ-800 and for XDJ-XZ, but I am unable to define it for my custom controller...
I see that I am able to assign Pad pages 5-8 by the config option padsPagesChanged, but I would like to have them in the menu same as for the other controllers.

In your definition, add this as one of the first entries within <device>
The first 4 are the names of the pad pages for the regular buttons, the next buttons when used in combination with shift.
<pads defaults="hotcues,pad fx1,beatjump,sampler,cueloop,pad fx2,loop,keycue" />
