Sujet: New Macbook
I currently have a macbook pro for running vdj8 its started getting a little jumpy and less reliable when running vdj, its a 2011 i5 with 16gb and 1tb ssd so i'm thinking it might be struggling or because i dont get the latest os anymore its getting left behind.

so, new macbook pros are stupid expensive and not upgradable, would a new macbook air be capable? also how is vdj with the new m2 chips?

or have windows pcs got reliable enough yet for 5 hour plus sets?

M1/m2 MacBook airs are plenty fast for vdj so that's certainly an option. (i would advice to go for 16gb memory though)

Windows laptops are certainly an option too.
I've always been using windows and no problem either

what sort of spec windows laptop? im concerned it would have a wobble after a couple of hours hard use

Used several Dell XPS15, currently one with 10th gen i7

Not sure why any laptop would 'wobble' after a couple of hours though, especially coming from a 2011 i5 almost anything will be smoother

If you have stems disabled VDJ will run on literally anything. As with any Windows laptop you need to optimize it and uninstall bloatware etc.

I've never had any issues with VDJ on Windows and that's 15 years.

no issues with windows 11 either?

No, all working fine.
