Yes, all 4070TI have 12GB.
The increase in power draw and pricing made me chose the RTX4070TI instead of the RTX4080 (16GB)
I am not a gamer, so it doesn´t really make a difference in my usecase.
Who cares if stems are calculated a second faster?!

Would having a second gpu running stems only be a good choice? bc i have a spare 3060 or 2070 super laying around

Same problem here with a 4060RTX Laptop. Only 3-4x speed with the GPU enabled (shows at gpu meter)

You can try to use GPU-Z to see if there's a cooling problem (too hot) or other issues while running decoding stems.

I don´t see a problem at all. Temps and Mhz are fine. Mhz go up when i start a stem operation. Temp is only 42 degree celsius.

Windows power mode is balanced or higher?
Posté Sat 28 Dec 24 @ 1:34 pm
High - even if i force only the RTX4060 in bios to use, only 3,4x stem speed. Fresh install of VDJ nothing. Studio drivers nothing, Microsoft drivers nothing. GPU, hardware enabled gpu planning, on/off nothing.
I didn´t get it, should be faster. Are there any 4060 laptop user and will tell us the "stems speed" you can read at the cpu meter?

Found the error. If I use Usb C power delivery the laptop goes in a slow mode, thought it would be ok. Faster with battery only. Up to ten times speed.
Dont have the original power adapter here at the moment

you can set power mode for when charging separately then the power mode when on battery may that needs to be on high when charging

yes i know, but the laptop seems to have a different setting for regular power supply and one for usb-c power delivery. If i connect the usb c charger with around 80w, the laptop goes in a slow state. Stem speed (as written in den cpu meter) goes down from 10,x to 3,x
Posté Sun 29 Dec 24 @ 9:51 pm
might be something in the system bios to adjust that if it happens no matter the power settings in windows...
worth checking anyways :-)

Little update. With the regular power supply the "Stems Speed" at the cpu meter goes up to 24.4x with the 4060 mobile gpu
Think it's ok now. Wonder what other laptops achieve

Tested my old GTX 980m again, there was just some update. Even this makes a speed of 5.8x.
