Sujet: Emulating the crossfader "cut" function for scratching

For those who use the scratch feature or the V-scratch and want to cut at the same time.

With a simple keyboard & shortcuts.

You'll have to create 5 shortcuts. I'll take an example that is not the only one way. X, C, V, B, N (just at top of the space bar).

First, the return to central pos of crossfader:
'V' action="crossfader" value="reset"

The two shortcuts to shift to left of right:
'C' action="crossfader" value="0" left side
'B' action="crossfader" value="4096" right side

With this three shortcuts you can instantly go to left or right or middle.

Then,
Two other shortcuts for temporary action, working as C & B
'X' action="crossfader" value="0" chek the temporary box
'N' action="crossfader value="4096" check also temporary



So with this five shortcuts you can totally emulate the cut.

Example:

Put you crossfader to middle & press N the crossfader will temporary cut the left deck

Put you crossfader to left then press B the crossfader goes to middle

Try lot of combination to get exactly the kind of cut you want.

This technique allows to scratch with mouse or hand (V-scratch) with left hand, WHILE your right fingers are on the shortcuts to cut.

Yes it is hard to be synchronized but with a lot of practice it can allow you to scratch like with real vinyl turnables+mixer.

I'm not being able to create the shortcut. How do i do that ??
 
Go to the options menu, the click the "shortcuts" tab. Then there's an "add" button on the right of the window.
 
Hopefully you like the software Herman, and stop using the outdated cracked version 2.01

I'm not being able to mess with the shortcuts, they don't seem adjustable.
 
It's because you are using a cracked demo...many bugs and sorry to say no support for cracked versions. Sorry. Just purchase the real thing and you will have all the support you need and access to shortcuts.

He's right you know...

I used to be a "sinner" and use the cracked version too, since it was only for me as bedroom-dj, and I had almost no means of paying for the program.

But the minute I got my credit-card from the bank I purchased it (true, I can prove it... :) ), I rushed to the VirtualDJ site, and bought it.

And I must say : I have absolutely no problems anymore using this software. It is worth every EUR I spent on it....

Also, since I used the cracked version, I had the common sense not to bug the people in this forum, since I felt I had "no right of speaking" (figure of speech), untill I had the full version.

Sorry to go offtopic, but I had to get this off my chest....
