is it possible to set custom pads to trigger image or video as an overlay temporarily. i know that the video fx already does this but looking to be able to choose this from a selection as and when required

Yes, you simply toggle the video fx, after you have set the video fx to the image or image folder you want
The script is:
video_fx_select 'slideshow' && video_fx
or if you prefer doing it as a master video fx
deck master video_fx_select 'slideshow' && deck master video_fx
You can map either to a pad on a custom pad page, which then becomes a toggle
Then you get something like this (me in a pink bunny suit on top of George Michael "Faith"):
The script is:

Or you can also use sampler, and set the sample trigger mode to "hold"
If you don't know this, sampler also accepts images / video files that can be overlayed on top of video output.

is there as specific script for this and how do i assign the content to the desired pad?
