Yes, I was just about to post this! I just saw a post and couldn't quite believe it. Had to check if they were referencing some old outdated info - but no.
Digital DJ Tips have posted that Spotify is back in Serato, Rekordbox and Djay Pro.

I'm currently using Apple music and have to send from my phone to a Logitech bluetooth adapter connected to my controller. No sign of that on VDJ either.

So the big question is of course if and when Spotify will be available in VDJ?

No doubt it's a great way for collecting metadata to feed their algorithms too.

I also came here to post this aswel!!
As much as i enjoy using Deezer to stream having Spotify would be a game changer as i find most playlist i get sent are on Spotify and it would aviod the need to convert the playlists.
Seems you will need to subscribe to Spotify Premium to use it but their pricing model doesnt seem to bad tbh.
Let's hope for the VDJ intergration soon.

Just noticed for Serato they are not allowing Stems via Spotify..... that may be a deal breaker
3. Search & Mix
Click the Spotify Logo in the search bar to browse the full Spotify catalog alongside your local files. Stream, cue, and mix instantly. (Note: no offline storage, Stems, or playlist creation in Serato.)

No playlist creation? Not such a big issue really, as I generally either use existing playlists on the service, or create them using their own interface.

Please VDJ make Spotify work with Stems, I'd love you forever <3

It doesn't look like stems and cache are going to be an option for Spotify.

It looks like Spotify won't allow that.
Also no offline cache

First no Apple music, now no Spotify.
Obviously we all know streaming tracks are not a reliable option, but where this could of some concern is for new hobbyists and or beginner DJs. If the other Big 3 support more popular streaming options than VDJ, they overlook it and choose another option. New or future users may perceive this as VDJ being lesser of a product.
At the end of the day, anyone who has used VDJ for any length of time knows this is not the case, but i feel it can further create a perception problem for anyone not as familiar or just starting out.

Come on man, it's only just been announced!
No Spotify so far today, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. VirtualDJ had Spotify integration before, so assuming the code was just "commented out" rather than removed, it would just need to be re-enabled.
In fact I was wondering earlier whether it would be accessible from an old build (pre July 2020).

And that's exactly what those platforms are going for - using table inclusion and licence agreements to try to give the appearance that they are ahead.
I understand the perception issue, but imo, if you use this primarily as your guide, it implies being young in the game or a lack of understanding of the why (VirtualDJ pioneered DJ streaming, so it's definitely not a capability issue).

But as I commented in another thread, there have been multiple requests for Apple music but not a single response from Atomix, and that's been months now. Fair enough but lack of communication doesn't instil confidence in a product.
Some feedback from the company would be good for users. Even just a yes or no but there's been absolutely nothing.
As much as I love the software I have to say communication is very poor.

Questions areiss, what could they possibly say that could help you at this moment? Why does that make your confidence falter?
If they give anything out, the average person would try to hold them to it, and then keep messaging about it.
Saying nothing is the safest way to go (no assumptions created), especially if any agreement requires non disclosure of that kind of info.
Not having the feature doesn't mean they are any less capable, but that's the problem with sources not controlled by your team, the rules are dictated by the service provider, and who they are friends with/decide to work for/with.
It probably is better to go knocking on the service provider's door and ask why they didn't let Atomix in at the same time vs others, given their user base (which includes a lot of wedding DJs taking requests/dealing with customer provided listd) - that is what/where the real problem is (and is obviously a clear bias, promoting anti-competitive practices). If they come back and say that it's an Atomix capability problem, then come back here.

I'm still waiting for Apple to respond to a bug I reported in 2019, so what makes you think they'd answer me as to why their product isn't available in VirtualDJ?
It's just frustrating because all streaming platforms should be available in all capable products simultaneously. It's 2025 after all.

If Apple won't respond on issues regarding their services, why should it be expected that Atomix respond on their (Apple's) service provisions?
I fully understand the frustrations, and if I didn't know the featureset/history of Atomix's VirtualDJ and Apple I would be with you here.
But I know their history enough to know that Atomix most likely isn't the blocker here - service providers are choosing who they want to be at the table at a certain time, and vendors are using their links/perceived market coverage to capitalize on that bias.

Because we're a community. Real people who communicate here every day. Not just some faceless team of people in an office somewhere.
