So out of no where, whenever I plug in my DS1 it'll work for like 30 seconds to a minute and then just lock up VDJ.
Everything becomes unresponsive. The music stops, timecodes quit working and I have to pretty much force close VDJ. If I try to open VDJ again, it sees the box but when I click on the timecode section in the main audio window that option disappears.
Is my box shit or am I missing some type of setting somewhere??
M1 Macbook, plenty of RAM, plenty of storage, running Ventura.
Is it time to buy the Reloop FLUX???

Try different things maybe:
Does the problem also happen when you use it with Serato?
- Update the driver/firmware to latest if it isn't already there
- Switch cables to newer ones to see if they are problematic (USB, RCAs)
- Backup your settings.xml then remove it and try running VirtualDJ with fresh, default settings, and tgen plugging it in and using it to see what happens

Ok so when I try to update the firmware the Denon icon has a line/circle on it and I can't run it. I've switched cables a few times but I'll go buy a couple new ones tonight and see what happens. and I'll delete my settings XML and try it.
And honestly I forgot about trying it with SDJ.

Usually a lockup means a faulty device / not clean disconnection of the device.
So most likely it's either a bad cable or a bad unit

Ok so I did all of the suggested last night and both VDJ and SDJ freeze up. Guessing the box has gone to shit, smdh, UGH Denon!!
Looks like Ill be ordering the Reloop Flux and pray it outlast this box.
How does this even happen?? The box looks brand new!! Nothing has been spilled, its never been dropped and yet here i am with a dead box......

I don't do DVS.
Yet I love FLUX.
I use it as an all around external sound interface for various tasks
Also the fact that it has a USB hub built in is one of those things you never think about, until you have it, and then you don't! :P

My money is on the USB port, Cheap USB B type ports do not fare well with smaller devices with no strain anchor when they're moved about, a bit of strain on the cable to the port and it just becomes a intermittent connection.
Try hold it with a little strain on the connector [probably up] see if the problem goes away, I have a device with this exact problem and symptom, I 'fixed' it by sliding a tiny shim into the port and connector so the copper contacts make without any give.

I'm with Locodog. I've got two devices here with damaged USB B ports. It doesn't take much to cause an issue.

Yeah something is definitely wrong with this box. I held in the USB cord and pressed on it. Same outcome, VDJ plays for a few and then locks up.
Another for the graveyard of soundcards.
Reloop Flux is up next..

It doesn't need to go to the graveyard. Get it serviced by someone who has the skills to replace (or even just solder) the USB socket.

I don't know if its even worth it at this point tho. The site has it as a legacy product.
Ill probably just put it with my RANE boxes (SL1, SL3), Traktor Boxes (Audio 6,8), Maya44 (the OG of the bunch) and then there's the NUMARK Virtual Vinyl Box (I loved that box!!).

I've still got my Maya44 USB (the plastic case with fixed cable) and last time I used it, it still worked. :-)
