Will this setting still be working after late April and early May when Microsoft will pretty much render the ViVeTool method non-functional?
As I understand it, pretty much all the newer Rane controllers (Four, One, One MK2, Performer & 72MKII so far) work in testing with a fix the MS MIDI 2.0 team came up with. The Rane fix will be made a permanent part of MIDI 2.0. What has not been addressed yet is the older Hercules controllers out there (DJ Console Mk2, DJ Console Mk4, DJ Console RMX, DJ Console 4-Mx, DJ 4Set, DJ Control Steel, DJ Control MP3 -DJ Control MP3 e2 / MP3 LE / Glow).
TY in advance!

I understood, from this reading: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/windows-music-dev/windows-midi-services-rollout-known-issues-and-workarounds/
that the upcoming new MIDI release from Windows fixes the bugs AND deactivate the workarounds, including VDJ's one.
I might have understood wrong, as I'm no expert in drivers in general, nor in MIDI interface in particular!

What controller(s) are you using? Pretty much all should be working after the last update (KB5083631) (26200.8328) except some Hercules controllers.

I'm on Denon Prime 4+
For now, it's working, but I didn't test it thoroughly. Upcoming gig next Friday, fingers crossed 😬

Denon MC 4000, started the wedding with no problems, by the time I got to dance reception, every time I moved the fader everything went blinkers and songs started stuttering. Bride and groom furious. Connects backup laptop to finish, but different problems occurred, my mouse pointer kept moving and then changing all the screens in VDJ, my reputation after 25 years of 5 starts is now shit because of this problem

Well unfortunately it's partly Microsoft and partly InMusic ancient drivers which have never been updated.
Thats why I totally block Windows updates and only install them in January as I have time to test.
Lesson learned after using laptops to DJ with since 1999.
